Centers of Excellence Readiness Mock Survey

Once you have successfully completed the Center of Excellence application process, the last step in achieving designation as a COE is a site inspection that includes a facility tour, staff interviews, and medical records review. There is an expense associated with the site survey process, and you want to make sure that your staff and facility is well prepared in order to prevent the need for a re-survey. Allow us to work with you to make sure that you are fully prepared for a successful survey. Regardless of the organization granting your status as a Center of Excellence, we understand the specific requirements of the process and will take you through it step-by-step.

Surgical Excellence, LLC is a company created collaboratively by members of the bariatric surgery, general surgery and risk management communities whose mission includes assisting health care facilities in their goal toward Centers of Excellence status, and one critical step in this process is to conduct a mock survey. The Surgical Excellence, LLC team is here to help you make the most of your Center of Excellence experience.

An engagement with Surgical Excellence, LLC to conduct a mock site survey would mirror what you can expect from a site inspection from your designating organization. The engagement would consist of the following:

• Coordination by our staff with key personnel to identify date of the visit
• Checklist will be sent to your organization with instructions for visit and data requests
• One day site inspection, including:
  • Facility tour
  • Medical records review
  • Staff interviews
  • Review of documentation of compliance with COE requirements

Upon completion of the site visit, a full report will be provided to you outlining the findings and if needed, recommendations will be made to improve your programs readiness for an official designation visit.
