Following a comprehensive evaluation and analysis of the risks associated with bariatric surgery, NOVUS Insurance Company RRG (NOVUS) was created to provide professional liability insurance coverage exclusively for bariatric surgeons and their associated general surgery practices. This analysis was critical in order to provide NOVUS with a unique understanding of the bariatric surgery professional liability risk, which ultimately led to the creation of unique risk management and loss control tools to help minimize those risks and enhance quality of care for patients.
